Playlist 9 preview: New video version of the Mark Pritchard collaboration with Thom Yorke (coming soon)

Polish filmmaker Michal Marczak, whose atmospheric and intoxicating documentary All These Sleepless Nights took home the Directing Award for World Cinema Documentary at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, directs the music video. That film embraces a nomadic cinematic vision that is eerily similar to the sonic direction of “Beautiful People,” and perhaps provides a sense of the origins of the collaboration. The music video is described as follows:

Isolated and alone, a wandering stranger from another world finds himself stranded. Surrounded by an unforgiving – yet hypnotically breathtaking – landscape, we inquiringly watch as he makes his way. Who he is, where he’s from or why he is here is unknown, but what we do know is his time is running out. Our stranger’s curiosity is mesmerizing. We watch as he explores the planet’s mountains and rocks; crushing fundamental laws of nature along the way.

Taken from Mark Pritchard’s new album ‘Under The Sun’, released on 13 May 2016 via Warp Records. New music video coming soon. View the trailer below.
